Accessibility Statement
Last updated: September 18, 2026
Abbalove Church wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who rely on assistive technology such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, or screen magnification. Accessibility is part of how we welcome people, and we treat it as ongoing work rather than a one-time task.
Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities. We check new pages against them as we build them, and review the site as it grows and changes.
What we do
- Use semantic HTML and a logical heading order on every page.
- Provide text alternatives for meaningful images.
- Offer a “Skip to content” link and support keyboard-only navigation.
- Check color contrast and keep keyboard focus visible.
- Label form fields and announce errors to assistive technology.
- Avoid accessibility overlays, which can interfere with assistive technology.
Known limitations
These are the issues we know about today, and what we’re doing about them:
- Navigation contrast (fixed). The dimmed links in the main navigation fell short of the contrast Level AA asks for. We raised them, along with other dimmed text on the colored panels, on September 18, 2026.
- Text over photographs. A few short labels sit directly on photos, and their contrast depends on the image behind them. We’re reviewing these.
- PDF group guides. Some downloadable guides are large files and may not work well with screen readers. If you need one in another format, ask us and we’ll help.
Content from other services
Some parts of this site come from services we don’t control. We choose them with accessibility in mind, but their own accessibility is up to them:
- Stripe provides the secure payment fields for giving and paid tickets.
- YouTube hosts our sermons. Videos load only when you choose to play them.
- Google Maps opens when you follow a directions link.
- Instagram opens when you follow a link to our account.
